The fact that it serves as a hub for many tourist destinations is also well known.

We can help you with great deals when you need a car for one day to go to Rameshwaram. With our One Day Madurai to Rameshwaram Trip, we are happy to provide excellent rates on a variety of models of cars, including luxury, SUVs, and compact cars.

Rameshwaram receives a tonne of visitors all year round because of the well-known Ramanathaswamy Temple and because it was once home to one of India’s greatest presidents, the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. A private car ride to Rameshwaram from Madurai would take about 4 hours. To get to this lovely seaside town on Pamban island, which is connected to the rest of India by the Pamban Bridge, you will have to travel about 170 km.

Agni Theertham is a holy water body situated near Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. This theertham is believed to have been created by Lord Rama when he installed the deity of Lord Shiva at Rameswaram. It is said that Rama and his army used the theertham to perform the last rites of his father, King Dasharatha.

It is believed that taking a dip in this theertham will purify the soul and absolve one of all sins. It is also said that those who take a dip in this theertham will be blessed with long life and prosperity.

    Hanuman Temple

An idol of Lord Hanuman with a face made of black stone and covered in red fabric and vermillion is found in the Panchamukha Hanuman Temple.

According to legend, Lord Hanuman had to put out five lamps before Lord Rama could kill Ravana. He simultaneously revealed each of his five faces in order to burn the five lamps because each of the five flames was burning in a different direction. Lord Hanuman’s face is on the front, and the faces of Lord Narasimha, Lord Adivaraha, Lord Garuda, and Lord Hayagriva are on the sides.

One must see the floating stones from Ram Setu that were brought here and used to construct the floating bridge that allowed Lord Rama to travel to Lanka.

    Ramanathaswamy Temple

The Ramanathaswamy Temple is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site and one of the 275 most important Shiva temples on the continent.

The temple has a high compound wall and a structure resembling other South Indian ancient temples. With a height of 6.9 meters and 1212 pillars, its outer corridor is one of the longest temple corridors.

There are 64 temple tanks where one can perform an atonement by taking a holy dip. Your one-day trip to Rameshwaram for sightseeing would be incomplete without taking a dip here.

House of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

As the eleventh president of India and one of the best scientists, Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was born in Rameshwaram, a day trip to this city would be incomplete without visiting his home, the first floor of which was turned into a museum in 2011.

His brother now looks after the museum, which offers a glimpse into Dr. Kalam’s life through various photographs, medals, awards, and his contributions to development and defense. Today, the second floor serves as an art gallery, and the ground floor serves as a gift shop.

    Pamban Bridge

You will also see the Pamban Bridge from the bylane road next to the bridge during your one-day car trip from Madurai to Rameshwaram. It was India’s first sea bridge when it was opened in 1915. It links NH 49 to the island of Rameshwaram.

It is 2 km long and built at a height of 41 feet above sea level. The double-leaf bascule section, which can be raised to create a passage for ships to pass, makes the bridge interesting even though most of it shares features with other sea bridges with 143 piers.

    Dhanushkodi

Dhanushkodi, also referred to as Ram Setu, will be the last tourist destination on your One Day Madurai to Rameshwaram Trip in a Private Cab. Dhanushkodi is a ghost town 20 kilometers southeast of Rameshwaram. The Rameswaram cyclone of 1964 completely destroyed the town, but the ruins are still worth visiting.

It is said that Lord Rama gave Lord Hanuman the order to construct the floating bridge in this location, and the latter complied with the aid of his Vanar Sena. Apart from a few fishing communities, this area is largely uninhabited and unexplored by tourists.
